Qubee, a broadband internet service provider through WiMAX technology, has doubled its internet speed. However, it would not charge any extra fee for that. The company made the declaration at a press conference at a city hotel Thursday. "This is undoubtedly biggest offer for our customers to meet their demand. Now, speed is universal as everybody wants fast and reliable internet," said Nehal Ahmed, chief marketing officer of the company. He said now customers will enjoy 512 kbps (kilobytes per second) internet speed instead of 256 kbps while the customer who were using 512 kbps will enjoy 1Mbps (megabytes per second) with Tk 400 only per month. In reply to a question about their poor network coverage, Mr Nehal said that they were developing network rapidly to resolve the problem. "We are now giving attention to strengthening our city network instead of expansion outside the city," said Chief Technical Officer Shafiqul Islam. Mr Nehal also said Qubee was the first to launch WiMAX and introduced 4G technology in Bangladesh. Marketing Director of Qubee Alistair Johnston, Chief Financial Officer Faisal Haider and Chief Sales Officer Firoz Ahmed were present in the press conference.
